What a truly stunning guitar this is from Epiphone Japan. This is the latest several Elitists I have imported from Japan. This guitar is in very good but used condition. It plays beautifully and the USA pickups sound great. The neck is dead straight and it's a real looker! I have tried to photograph any blemishes and signs of wear. Nothing is excessive but there is slight corrosion and dullness to the bridge & stop tail piece. Some rust to the screws on the pickguard. I have had to replace the centre screw & nut of the pickguard. The originals are included. There was a dent on the headstock which has been repaired (see gallery pics) and a small dent in the back of the neck which has also been repaired. It is polished and smooth to the touch. There are a couple of other tiny dents in the back of the guitar which are also highlighted but that is it. The top of the guitar is excellent and there are no indents to the frets which still have around 70% life left
Here is a little info regarding the series:
The Elitist Series were made at the Terada and Fuji-gen factories in Japan. (F serial indicates Fujigen manufacture) The same factories that made all of the Orville by Gibson and Orville guitars the Terada guitar factory mostly making the semi acoustic models and the Fuji-Gen guitar factory mostly making the solid body models. The Elitist Les Paul was made from 2002-2008
The Elitist guitars were made to very high specifications. Most of the parts were made in Japan but some parts were made in other countries, including the USA and Germany. These guitars cost more than twice as much as a standard Epiphone guitar. The Elitist series was discontinued in 2008
The Epiphone Elitist Series includes features such as real Abalone and Pearl inlays, bone nuts and saddles, hand-rubbed finishes, USA strings and meticulous adjustment and set-up.
This guitar has the distinctive "Tombstone" headstock shape and is equipped with Epiphone/Gibson USA pickups. It also comes with a lovely hard case which is used and does have some scuffs and nicks but in overall good condition.
